Definition of "Temp" on Jobono
For all purposes on the Jobono platform, the word "Temp" is a plain-language label used in the user interface only. A "Temp" is, in legal terms, an independent contractor (1099 contractor / vendor) engaged directly by an Employer through the marketplace. A Temp is not a W-2 employee, temporary employee, leased employee, or agency worker of Jobono, Nexoria Enterprise, or the Employer. Each Temp is responsible for their own federal, state, and local taxes, their own insurance, and their own business expenses. By using Jobono, Temps and Employers acknowledge and agree to this classification.
Jobono is a technology marketplace operated by Nexoria Enterprise DBA Jobono. Jobono connects employers with Temps (independent 1099 contractors) for short-term work opportunities. Jobono is not a staffing agency, employer of record, or payroll company, and does not hire W-2 employees through this platform.
No Employer-Employee Relationship
Temps (independent contractors) who use the platform are not employees, agents, partners, joint venturers, or franchisees of Jobono or Nexoria Enterprise. Jobono does not employ, hire, supervise, train, assign, or control Temps. Temps are free to accept or decline opportunities and to provide services outside the platform.
1099 Tax Status & W-9 Requirement
Each Temp engaged through Jobono is a 1099 independent contractor. Temps are required to submit a valid IRS Form W-9 before receiving payouts and will receive an IRS Form 1099-NEC where required by law. No federal, state, FICA, Medicare, or unemployment taxes are withheld from Temp payouts. Each Temp is solely responsible for reporting and paying their own self-employment taxes.
No Guarantee of Work
Jobono does not guarantee work, hours, earnings, or future opportunities to any contractor.
Client Responsibility
Client businesses are responsible for the worksite, lawful safety instructions, accurate opportunity details, and review of submitted service-time records. Whether a client business has an employment or other legal relationship with a contractor is determined by applicable law based on the actual facts of the engagement, not by the use of this platform.
