Background Check Disclosure and Authorization
Effective: January 1, 2026
This Disclosure describes how background screening, when used, is handled on the Jobono marketplace, operated by Nexoria Enterprise DBA Jobono. Background screening is offered only where legally permitted and properly authorized, and only when actively enabled for a specific opportunity or program.
1. When Background Checks May Be Used
A client business or Jobono may request a background check from a third-party consumer reporting agency for certain opportunities or programs where required by the client business, by law, or by the nature of the work.
2. Written Authorization
Where a background check is requested, the contractor will receive a separate written disclosure and will be asked to provide written authorization before any report is obtained. Contractors may decline to authorize a background check, in which case the related opportunity may not be available.
3. Fair Credit Reporting Act and Similar Laws
Background screening for engagement-related decisions is subject to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and similar state and local laws. Jobono and client businesses will follow applicable disclosure, authorization, and adverse-action procedures.
4. Anti-Discrimination
Background information must be used in compliance with anti-discrimination laws. See our Compliance page.
5. No Implied Promise
Public marketing references to "verified contractor profiles" do not promise that any particular background check has been performed for any particular contractor unless expressly stated for a specific program.
